Dumplings are known in many cuisines and have many lovers crazy about them,  mostly in Asia and Eastern Europe. They come in different shapes and are known under different names. My version of a dumpling comes from Poland - an Eastern European country.

To crochet a dumpling you need to know how to crochet in rounds. In my tutorial I use US crochet terms: sc - single crochet, hdc - half double crochet, inc - increase, st - slip stitch.

You also need to know how to make a Magic Ring, but if you struggle with it, no worries - in video tutorial I show you how to 'cheat' making a Magic Ring'.

R1: MR 6 (6);
R2: inc × 6 (12);
R3: (sc, inc) × 6 (18);
R4: (2 sc, inc) × 6 (24);
R5: (3 sc, inc) × 6 (30);
R6: (4 sc, inc) × 6 (36);
R7: (5 sc, inc) × 6 (42).

After you're done with round 7, you start closing the body. You need to fold it in half and slip stitch through back loop of the front part and front loop of the back part. I showed how to do it in my video tutorial, so if you are not sure how to do it, check it out 😉

You begin stuffing your crochet dumpling after you are 2/3 into closing the body.

After you close the body, you begin making the top part of your dumpling. To do that, crochet into slip stitch that you closed the body with as follows: (4 hdc, st) until you reach the end.

Cut your yarn. You can attach a keychain to make a keychain out of your dumpling or just weave in the tail.

I hope that you enjoyed making this crochet dumpling. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them - I'm more than happy to answer! 😊
