My Etsy Shop Was Suspended – What Do I Do Now?

If your Etsy Shop was suspended, there are three options. In this post I will go over all three of them and available solutions to get your Etsy Shop back.

Your account is currently suspended message on Etsy

I’m a New Etsy Shop Owner And My Shop Was Suspended

If you are a new Etsy Seller and you opened your Etsy Shop couple days/weeks/months ago, don’t worry. You probably were informed that Etsy sent you an email with a reason why they suspended your Shop, but there’s nothing in your inbox.

Etsy automatically puts new shops on hold for verification purposes. Sometimes this automatic process kicks in after couple days, sometimes it takes weeks or months, and sometimes it happens after you make your first sale on Etsy.

Be patient. You can email them after couple days to ask them to bring your shop back but please don’t spam them, because it will not help you solve this issue.

On the other hand, if your previous Etsy Shop was suspended and you tried to open a new one, you were probably automatically flagged for trying to open a new shop. In this case chances are that you won’t even hear back from Etsy support team.

My Etsy Shop Was Suspended by Mistake

With millions of sellers on the platform, Etsy had to implement certain automatic moderation processes. Sometimes bots flag listings which should not be flagged. If you think that your Etsy Shop was suspended for genuine mistake, you can try contacting Etsy support team and ask for a human to review your case.

If you were not violating Etsy policies and did not have too many cases opened against you by unhappy customers, there’s a chance that you will get your Etsy Shop back.

My Etsy Shop Was Suspended For Copyright Infringement or Policy Violation

In this case you will not get your shop back. Move on and try different selling platform that is better suited for your business. But it is safe to say that no other platform is better suited for copyright infringement or that they would like to work with you if you violate their policies.

How to Contact Etsy

Unfortunately contacting Etsy is not as easy as it should be. There’s no phone number available and live chat option is very limited. You may need to write an email and wait for their response.

To write to Etsy support team you need to go to Etsy help pages. To make it easier for you, I clicked through to get a link straight to contact page. Click here to appeal your Shop suspension.
