Tunisian Crochet Scarf – Simply Cozy

Today I’m going to share something less dog related, except for the fact that I made it for a dog lover: myself 🤭 As colder months are approaching, I decided to whip out my Tunisian crochet hook and finally make me a scarf that I always wanted.

I had this idea sitting in the back of my mind since last winter. Last year I have made a similar super cozy scarf for my husband but for some reason I didn’t have the time to make me one. So to take off my mind off some stressful things happening in my life now, I decided to finally use yarn that I had sitting in my stash for couple years now.

I decided to make my new scarf using Tunisian crochet, because it works up a warm, cozy fabric that I want. I don’t have a tutorial for how to do it but if you look up “Tunisian crochet simple stitch”, this is exactly the technique that I used to create this accessory.

❤️ the colorway

Yarn that I used is Hobbii Manaya in color 03. I had 3 skeins of it sitting in my stash. I bought it for a different project but 1 skein was enough to finish my entire scarf. I picked it not only for a lovely colorway, but also because it contains 65% Superwash wool and 35% acrylic. I’m trying to use more natural fibers in my works but before I completely switch to wool and cotton, I want to finish yarn that is currently sitting in my stash.

It’s not as soft as 100% acrylic yarn would be but I don’t mind it being a little bit “sharp”, if you know what I mean. It does “bite” like some wool would.

Wore it yesterday to work 😊

As the colder months approach, are you going to make your own scarf this year? If yes, what technique are you going to use? Let me know and share some inspiration!
